Attire Advice & Booking Policies
Helpful Information:
A note on (dance) footwear:
Please remember to wear comfortable shoes, preferably something that doesn't have too much sole (i.e. like tennis shoes) because thick soles make it more difficult to move across the floor in. Also, choose a pair of backed shoes, (i.e. no clogs, or slip on sandals or heels) -- they make it more difficult for students to turn. If you don't yet have Ballroom dance shoes, bring a pair of dress shoes. They usually have a leather bottom, and are most close to professional Ballroom shoes. Above all, you want to have comfortable shoes that stay on, allow for articulation through your feet, and allow you to feel the floor underneath you.
A note on yoga:
Please remember to wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing. It is helpful to also bring a firm blanket, and yoga mat, sometimes called a 'sticky' mat; if you have a yoga strap (an old tie or long scarf will work) or yoga block(s), you may also find them helpful. Yoga practice is generally done barefoot. If you have longer hair, you may prefer hair ties or head bands to keep your hair out of the way in various poses. Some practitioners also enjoy bringing a hand towel or yoga towel. It's a good idea to bring a water bottle for during, or after, your practice, and it is best if you do not eat a heavy meal for at least an hour before your yoga practice. If you have any body injuries, concerns, or are expecting, please discuss them with Amy during (or prior to) our first practice, so that she can be prepared to tailor the class to your specific needs.
Attendance & Payment Policies
A note on tardiness:
Booked lessons afford you your specific lesson dates, your private studio room, your lesson time, and Amy's time. Since these services are held for you, thereby excluding any other bookings to be scheduled during your allotted time/date and making last minute changes/re-booking impossible, your lesson time is firm. It will not flex if you are running late. In the rare event that Amy is running late, your time will be made up.
A note on my 24 Hour cancellation policy for private lessons:
Barring emergency, if you are a no show for your booked lesson, or if cancellation of your lesson comes less than 24 hours in advance, you will be charged for that lesson. If you need to reschedule or cancel a booked lesson in advance, please contact Amy via her phone, 586-801-0465, or her email: atranchida@hotmail.com Thank you.
A note on my Attendance Policy for private group lessons:
Barring emergency or inclement weather (where a class may be cancelled), all private group members are responsible for their attendance to booked private group workshops or series dates. The dates and duration of the private group meetings are pre-booked and known to all members of the group. If a member of a private group misses a pre-booked workshop or class, he/she will not be reimbursed for that class period, and no-make up sessions will be booked.
If a class is cancelled due to an emergency or inclement weather, Amy will reschedule and rebook that class period at the first available mutually agreed upon day and time.
A note on payment:
Payment is due when services are rendered. For lesson packages, payment is due in full on the date of the first lesson.
Cash, Check, or Zelle accepted. Checks made payable to: Amy L. Tranchida
